I believe this is another amazingly on point and nuanced commentary on the insanity that follows emotionally abusive relationships. To me Nowell is sort of saying, "you really think it's so great? Come here and see for yourself." For this reason, probably my favourite song off their self titled album. I see the last line "All these things I do, They're waiting for you." as a tongue in cheek saying for people who pine to live in Southern California and glorify it for its wealth, weather, and celebrities. He has a love/hate relationship with the area he grew up/lives in. Reducing it to the list of things that make his soul unsound. He sees the materialism of it and the lack of substance that exists there. Everything that Nowell is unsatisfied with in Southern California. While the second half of the song talks about everything wrong with where he lives. The first half of the song just talks about daily life in the non-affluent areas of Southern Cali in a semi apathetic state. The only thing he's really found in life there that makes him happy is reggae/ska. I think Nowell is talking about how unfulfilled he is in Southern California. Ok apart from "Omg this song is so cool". very few people have actually commented on what they think this song is about. Pull over there's a reason why my soul's unsound Music from Jamaica, all the love that I found You're a fool, don't fuck around with my dogĪll that I can see I steal, I fill up my garage If you only knew all the love that I found I got the deuce-deuce in the trunk of my car, oh yeah It gets so real sometimes, who wrote my rhyme This ain't no funky reggae party, $5 at the door It smelled like Lou-dog inside the van, oh yeah
